About Us.

Jack O’Malley

All funerals conducted at O'Malley Family Funerals are personally overseen by Jack.
His exposure to funerals began whilst altar serving in his childhood at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Burntwood. After assisting voluntarily at many funerals he became actively involved in the wider funeral profession at the age of 16. He worked whilst completing his A-level studies and during his time at the University of Birmingham, where he obtained his Honours degree in English.
Following 3 years working as Senior Funeral Director at an independent firm, Jack set up O'Malley Family Funerals in 2017.

Grace O’Malley

Grace is Jack’s younger sister and joined the family business in 2018.
She ensures those we care for get all the support they need, whether that be practical advice or simply a friendly chat.
Grace also assists in ensuring the smooth running of all funeral services at O’Malleys, making arrangements with families to ensure their loved-one gets the service they deserve.
When not a work, Grace is a busy mother to her two little girls - Molly & Matilda.

Ian Ashley

Ian is Jack & Grace’s cousin. He joined the family business in 2019.
Ian is responsible for caring for loved-ones throughout their time in our care. From being on call day and night, to hand washing our fleet - it’s hard to think of anything Ian doesn’t do!
Outside of work, Ian enjoys cooking up a storm (especially a spicy curry!) trips to his caravan at Abersoch, and supporting Walsall FC.

Helen Peter

Helen joined the family business in 2026 following a career as Cabin Crew for British Airways and in property management.
As a funeral arranger, Helen is on hand to advise and support families - often being the first person they speak to when calling O’Malleys.
Away from work, Helen is kept on her toes by her three boys William, Rory and James.

Our Funeral Assistants

Supporting us on with driving and pall-bearing on every funeral are our Funeral Assistants.
The team is made up of Uncle Andy (also Helen’s Father-in-law), Uncle John (Ian’s Dad) Mark (a family friend) & John (Helen’s Dad).

They are on hand to make sure each funeral we conduct runs smoothly.

Jake

Jake is Jack’s Golden Retriever. He comes to work most days and is always happy to lend a paw when needed.
If you are visiting and you’d like to say hello, just let us know - Jake loves nothing more than comforting those in need, and is often a helpful distraction for bereaved families.
When not at work, Jake likes stealing socks, chasing squirrels and finding the muddiest puddles to roll in!
